In 2002, German crop circle researcher and author Andreas Müller met his Italian-Croat colleague Nikola Duper in the British fields. Since then a deep friend and colleagueship has developed and after some seasons had passed, they both decided to create an annual online database.

"Our aim was not to create a site competing with other valuable archives but to offer a kind of 'fast and interactive overview' of the most recent and past crop circle formations around the world. Therefore the intention of CCA is just this: information about the date of discovery of each crop circle formation, its location, together with (if available) an image and a b/w-diagram, some condensed information, credits and references for further reading and sources."
